This project is best described as a Hybrid Cloud Video Distribution System for BYOD and School Libraries. I really love to use video to help me with my learning. Over the last few years flipped video and bring your own device have become really popular. I haven’t found a complete solution that works well with both of these things, so I’ve decided to work on a solution that does things right for the students, teachers and people managing technology in schools. I think my unique situation and perspective (being a student and working at a school in a technology role) can really help me build a better solution.
My presentation will cover
- Student Voice – My love for flipped video and how it can go further.
- Understanding the problems with video and BYOD.
- How my project fixes these problems.
- The need to think differently about infrastructure to create a better solution.
- Making infrastructure much cheaper (and achievable) because of drastic ideas and thinking.
- Security challenges and how overcoming them is more secure than before.
- The power and importance of open source technologies.
- How the Information Processes and Technology Course has greatly helped my project.
- Indirectly covers how powerful students learning about computer science and code can be.
