Rebecca has a background in Education, with a Bachelor of Education with Honours in Primary School Teaching and a PhD in Education. Rebecca is an instructor and lead researcher on the Computer Science Education Research (CSER) Group's K­12 MOOC Program and Rebecca is an advocate for CS Education and increasing female participation in STEM. Rebecca’s research interests involve the application of educational pedagogy and psychology to deepen understanding of how students learn Computer Science, and the impacts of technology upon our educational environments. Rebecca has an interest in the role of social media to support student learning and teacher professional learning.

Rebecca is winner of a 2015 ACEL “New Voice” in Educational Leadership Research Scholarship, and a 2014 Google Innovative Educator.
